Thermal Gasket
Motorsport thermal inlet manifold gasket reduces temperature transfer between the plenum and inlet manifold
Due to big power conversions on the Focus ST225 and the Focus RS MK2 customers have started modifying their inlet plenums and replacing the standard OEM black plastic system with a full cast metal version. These offer greater reliability, performance, strength and safety for those big power / boost conversions.
A by product of this material change is heat transfer between the metal plenum and the inlet manifold, you will notice this if you open your bonnet and feel the metal plenum after sitting stationary for just a few minutes, or traveling at low speeds in traffic. The thermal gasket stops the heat transfer to the inlet manifold from the plenum which helps maintain low inlet temperatures, and maximise power, less heat = more power!
Supplied with replacement bolts the same as oem ones but slightly longer to accomadate the the thermal gasket.
